Astute readers of the EX33 magazine will be very familiar with this name as Chris has advertised with us since the beginning. Chris is also the main photographer for the mag providing most of the front cover images including the now infamous mushroom that is on the latest visitor guide.
Chris has been taking photos for many years now, after getting his first camera at a jumble sale when aged 10. He concentrates largely on landscapes, but also takes the occasional portrait. He uses mainly film for landscapes, although for portraits and 'general' photography he prefers to use digital.
After several years living in Snowdonia, Chris now lives in Devon, and is a
regular visitor to the EX33 area. He had a photo in last years A.O.N.B
competition in Barnstaple, and has had a few pictures and articles published in 'Outdoor Photography' magazine.
He has photographed weddings in the past, and also enjoys taking on projects such as album covers, live band photos and acting school photographer!
Chris particularly likes taking pictures in the evenings, as this is when the light is often at its best. He has often thought about turning his photography into a full time job, but has now decided to keep it as a hobby, where the pressure is off to get results, and it can be enjoyed more for its own sake!
When asked for his top tips on improving photographs, Chris would say...
1) Fill the frame with your subject
2) Wait for the best light (usually evenings)
3) Take time to look for the best composition, don't just take the first picture you see.
4) Take lots of pictures, the more you take the more likely one will be
a winner!
Chris has a web site if you would like to look at more of his work.
A4 prints of any photo are also available from the site priced
at £9.99 which includes postage and packaging.
They make excellent Christmas presents or everyday gifts.
