Erin lives in Georgeham and spends her days working at St George's House in Georgeham - a Christian outdoor centre, where she teaches surfing, climbing, kayaking and the like. It’s a tough job but somebody's got to do it! When not working she loves to surf, snowboard, play footie, go on holiday, wander on the beach, listen to tunes, play guitar/piano, and generally hang with friends.
Somehow in this hectic lifestyle Erin has found time to write and record her debut album ‘Songs from the end of my bed’. The album was recorded and produced by Paul Burton (Athlete / Delirious) using various session musicians on drums, bass, piano,
electric guitar and accordion. All acoustic guitar and vocals were performed by Erin. Since the recording Erin has found a bunch of local musicians to back her, namely Will Greeves on drums and box, Delboy Veale on piano, Ant Parker on bass and Miranda Goode on backing vocals.
Erin’s love of the beach is obvious when you look at the album photography. All photo’s in the sleeve were taken on Barricane beach complete with bed, lamp
and plant. Chris Parker was the chief photographer for the album.
Erin Says “I've always loved music, and have played instruments since I was young but it wasn't until my church was lacking someone to lead the music that
I started singing. This led on to me writing songs for the church and the songs eventually took me into the odd pub and secured me a few festival appearances.
I love simple, honest, acoustic music and my songs hopefully speak simply and honestly about me and
my walk with God.
The album is available from Studio 1A in Braunton or via the internet at myspace.com/erinstarnes
